If you are starting from the center of Lugano, head towards the Lugano railway station (Stazione di Lugano). From the station, exit and follow the signs for the lakefront. Walk along the lake promenade towards the east for about 15 minutes until you reach the Paradiso area. You will see a large park area on your left. Continue on this path until you reach the intersection with Via delle Scuole, where you will turn left.

From the Lugano railway station, you can take bus number 2 towards 'Paradiso'. The bus stop is located just outside the station. Stay on the bus for about 5 minutes and get off at the 'Paradiso, Funicolare' stop. Once you exit the bus, you will see the entrance to the Funicolare Monte San Salvatore just a short walk away on Via delle Scuole.
