Train
From Lugano, head to the Lugano train station (Stazione FFS). You can walk there from the city center; it's about a 10-minute walk. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for Varenna-Esino. Take the train towards Tirano, which will take you through beautiful landscapes. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Upon arrival at Varenna-Esino train station, exit the station and follow the signs to 'Molo Riva Grande', which is about a 15-minute walk downhill. You will pass through the charming streets of Varenna, eventually reaching the lakeside area.

Ferry
After arriving at Varenna-Esino train station, you can also take a ferry to reach Molo Riva Grande. From the train station, walk to the ferry pier, which is approximately a 10-minute walk. There are signs directing you to the pier. Once at the pier, board the ferry heading towards Bellagio or Menaggio. Molo Riva Grande is the ferry stop you will be disembarking at. The ferry ride takes about 5 minutes, offering you beautiful views of Lake Como.

If you prefer not to walk from the Varenna-Esino train station to Molo Riva Grande, you can take a taxi. Taxis are available outside the station.
