Travel Guide to Cathedral of Saint Lawrence

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence, set your GPS to Via Borghetto 1, 6900 Lugano. From the A2 motorway, take the Lugano exit and follow signs towards Lugano city center. Once you reach the city, follow Via Giuseppe Mazzini, then turn onto Via Nassa and continue until you reach Via Borghetto. There is limited street parking available nearby, and parking fees may apply.

• Public Transportation - Train

  Take a train to Lugano from any major city in Ticino. The train station in Lugano is conveniently located in the city center. Once you arrive at Lugano train station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop outside. Board bus number 2 or 3 heading towards 'Centro' and get off at the 'Piazza della Riforma' stop. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to the Cathedral. Head northwest on Via Nassa, then turn left onto Via Borghetto.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  If you are already in Lugano, use the local bus service. You can take bus number 2 or 3 from various parts of the city towards 'Centro'. Get off at the 'Piazza della Riforma' stop. From there, walk northwest on Via Nassa and make a left onto Via Borghetto. The Cathedral is located at Via Borghetto 1. A single bus ticket costs around CHF 2.50.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the city center of Lugano, the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence is within walking distance. From the main square, Piazza della Riforma, walk northwest along Via Nassa and turn left onto Via Borghetto. The Cathedral is located at Via Borghetto 1. This walk will take approximately 10 minutes.
