Walking
If you are in the city center of Dar es Salaam, start at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre. Head towards Samora Avenue and walk straight down until you reach the intersection with Uhuru Street. Turn left onto Uhuru Street and continue walking until you arrive at the ferry terminal. From there, take a ferry to the mainland towards Ferrymtakuja. Once you disembark, you will see the Old Lighthouse located at the coordinates 58H3+G4J, Ferrymtakuja, which is a short walk from the ferry terminal.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in the city center. Start your journey by heading towards the Slipway area along the coastline. Continue cycling along the beach road until you reach the ferry terminal. Park your bicycle securely and take the ferry to Ferrymtakuja. After arriving, it’s a short walk to the Old Lighthouse located at 58H3+G4J.
Public Transport (Dala Dala)
To get to the Old Lighthouse using public transport, head to a nearby Dala Dala terminal. Take a Dala Dala heading towards the ferry terminal. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket and board the ferry to Ferrymtakuja. After disembarking, follow the signs to the Old Lighthouse located at 58H3+G4J, which is just a few minutes' walk away.
