Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are driving, start by heading towards Arusha city center. From there, take the B3 road heading east. Follow the B3 for about 25 km (15.5 miles). You will see signs for Arusha National Park. Turn onto the A104 road, which leads directly to the entrance of the park. Ensure you have cash for the park entrance fee, which is approximately $30 per person.
Public Transportation
To reach Arusha National Park via public transport, first take a bus or shared taxi from your location in Eastern Zone to Arusha city. Once in Arusha, look for a daladala (minibus) heading to Momella Gate, which is one of the park entrances. The fare is usually around 2,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings). After arriving at Momella Gate, you may need to hire a guide or arrange for a vehicle to explore the park, as public transport does not venture inside.
Taxi
For a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from your location in Eastern Zone to Arusha National Park. Make sure to negotiate the fare in advance; it may cost around $50 to $100 depending on your starting point and the taxi service. The driver will take you straight to either the park entrance or a designated pick-up point inside the park.
