Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Mbeya city center. Head south on the Mbeya - Tunduma Road (A17) for approximately 30 kilometers. You will need to keep an eye out for a sign indicating the turn-off to Lake Ngosi. Turn left onto the road leading to Lake Ngosi; this road may not be paved, so drive carefully. Continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the Lake Ngosi viewing area. Parking is available near the viewing area.
Public Transport
For those using public transportation, take a daladala (shared minibus) from Mbeya city center to the Mbeya - Tunduma Road bus stop. From there, you can either catch another daladala that goes toward Lake Ngosi or negotiate with a local taxi for a short ride to the lake. Be sure to confirm the cost with the taxi driver beforehand; it should range from 10,000 to 20,000 TZS depending on your negotiation skills. Once you arrive at the Lake Ngosi viewing area, you will be able to enjoy the scenic views.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Lake Ngosi and prefer to walk, you can hike to the viewing area from surrounding villages. Follow local paths but be cautious; it is recommended to ask locals for directions as the trails can be unmarked. Ensure to wear proper hiking shoes and carry enough water for the journey, especially if you are walking from a nearby location.
