Car
If you are driving from Arusha, take the A23 road towards Moshi. After approximately 50 kilometers, you will reach a junction at the town of Makuyuni. Turn left onto the B1 road towards Moshi. Continue for about 26 kilometers until you reach a sign for Chemka Hot Springs. Turn right onto a dirt road, which is well-marked, and follow it for about 10 kilometers until you arrive at the hot springs. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for dirt roads, as they can be bumpy.

Public Transportation (Dala-Dala)
From Arusha, head to the main bus station and catch a Dala-Dala (shared minibus) heading to Moshi. The fare is usually around 2,000 TZS. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Chemka Hot Springs junction. Once you arrive at the junction (after about 1 hour), you will have to walk or hire a local taxi to take you the remaining 10 kilometers to the springs. Alternatively, you can ask for a ride from other travelers at the junction.

For a more comfortable and direct option, you can hire a private taxi from either Arusha or Moshi. The approximate cost from Arusha to Chemka Hot Springs is around 80,000 to 100,000 TZS. The driver will take you directly to the hot springs, which is a great option if you are traveling in a group or with family. Be sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey.
