If you are traveling by car, head towards Mwanza city. From the city center, take the B1 road heading south towards the airport. Follow the signs for Saanane National Park as you approach the shores of Lake Victoria. The entrance to the park is located at FV4Q+HRJ, Mwanza. Ensure you have a map or GPS, as the roads can be tricky in some areas. The park is approximately 15 kilometers from Mwanza city center.

Public Transportation (Matatu)
To reach Saanane National Park using public transportation, go to the main bus station in Mwanza. Look for a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards the airport or Saanane National Park. The fare is approximately 1,000-2,000 TZS. Inform the driver you want to get off at Saanane National Park. The ride takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. After you disembark, walk towards the park entrance, which is a short distance away.

For a unique experience, consider taking a boat from Mwanza to Saanane National Park. You can hire a boat from the Mwanza Marina. Ensure you negotiate the price beforehand, which can vary, but expect to pay around 15,000-25,000 TZS per person. The boat ride offers stunning views of Lake Victoria and takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive, there will be a short walk to the park entrance.
