Car
If you're driving from Stone Town, head southeast on Sokoine Road towards the airport. Continue on this road for about 6 km until you reach the junction with the Zanzibar Airport Road. Turn left and follow the road for another 3 km toward the airport. From the airport, follow signs for the main road to Jozani Forest. After about 20 km, look for signs to the southern coast where you can find the small fishing village of Mikindani. Once in Mikindani, park your vehicle at the local harbor. From here, you will need to take a boat to Kwale Island.

Public Transportation (Dalla Dalla)
From Stone Town, head to the Dalla Dalla (minibus) terminal located at Darajani Market. Board a Dalla Dalla heading to Jozani Forest or Paje. The fare is about 1,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings). Once you reach Paje, transfer to another Dalla Dalla going to Mikindani. After arriving in Mikindani, you will need to walk to the harbor to catch a boat to Kwale Island. Be prepared for an additional boat fare, which usually costs around 15,000 TZS.
