Dhow Boat
From your location in Zanzibar City, make your way to the Dhow Harbor, located near Stone Town. You can ask locals for directions to the harbor. At the harbor, look for a dhow (traditional wooden boat) heading towards Jozani. Make sure to confirm that the dhow goes to Jozani before boarding. The boat ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on the weather and tides. Once you disembark at Jozani, follow the signs towards Mangrovenwald, which is about a 15-minute walk through the lush surroundings.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Zanzibar City, especially in the Stone Town area. Head southeast towards the Jozani Forest. Follow the main road, and be cautious of traffic. The ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Look for signs indicating Jozani Forest or ask locals for directions. Once you reach Jozani, follow the signs to Mangrovenwald, which is located within the forest area.

Walking
This option is not recommended due to the distance, but if you prefer to walk, start from the center of Zanzibar City and head southeast towards Jozani. It is about a 20 km walk, which will take approximately 4-5 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Follow the main roads towards Jozani and ask locals for directions to Mangrovenwald once you arrive in the area.

Public Transport (Daladala)
From Zanzibar City, head to a daladala (local minibus) station. Look for a daladala heading towards Jozani. The fare is very affordable, and the ride takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Jozani, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Mangrovenwald, which is a short walk from the main road.
