From Cades Cove, head northwest on Cades Cove Loop Rd toward Laurel Creek Rd. Continue on Cades Cove Loop Rd until you reach the exit onto TN-73 N. Turn left onto TN-73 N and follow the road for approximately 11 miles. You will then merge onto US-441 N. Continue on US-441 N for about 15 miles until you reach Newfound Gap Parking Area, located at the North Carolina-Tennessee border.

However, visitors can take a local shuttle service from Cades Cove to Pigeon Forge and then transfer to a bus service that connects to Gatlinburg.
