Car
If you're traveling by car from Highland Rim, start by heading to US-70S. Depending on your starting location, navigate to the nearest route leading to US-70S. Once on US-70S, continue west for about 10 miles until you reach the junction with TN-111. Take the exit for TN-111 N towards Cookeville. After approximately 15 miles, take the exit for US-70 N towards Sparta. Follow US-70 N for about 12 miles until you reach Beersheba Springs. Upon entering Beersheba Springs, turn left onto Stone Door Rd. Continue for about 2 miles, and Savage Gulf State Natural Area will be on your left at 1183 Stone Door Rd, Beersheba Springs, TN 37305.

For those using public transportation, you will first need to reach a nearby major city, such as Nashville or Chattanooga, where bus services are more frequent. From Nashville, take a Greyhound or Megabus to Sparta, TN. The journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Sparta, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Savage Gulf State Natural Area, as public transport options are limited in this area. Expect to pay approximately $40 to $60 for the taxi ride from Sparta to the park.

If you're adventurous and wish to bike from Highland Rim, ensure you have a good map and are prepared for hilly terrain. Start by heading to US-70S, then follow the same route as described for car travel. Note that the ride will be approximately 35 to 40 miles one way, so plan for a long day, and ensure you take plenty of water and snacks. Be cautious of traffic, and consider using bike lanes where available.
