Shuttle Bus
From Pigeon Forge, head to the nearest shuttle bus stop, which is located near the Pigeon Forge Community Center at 170 Community Center Drive. You can catch the trolley that services the Gatlinburg area. Board the Green Route Trolley, which travels towards Gatlinburg. Make sure to pay the nominal fare when boarding. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Gatlinburg Welcome Center' stop, which should take around 30 minutes. From the Welcome Center, you can catch the Gatlinburg Trolley's 'Gatlinburg Trail' route. Get off at the stop named 'Trillium Gap Trailhead.' The trailhead is a short walk from the stop, and you should see signage directing you to the trail.
Walking from Gatlinburg
If you are starting in downtown Gatlinburg, head to the Gatlinburg Welcome Center located at 209 Cherokee Orchard Road. From the Welcome Center, walk east along the Parkway, then take a left onto US-441 North (the main road through Gatlinburg). Follow this road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the Trillium Gap Trailhead parking area. The trailhead is located near the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and you will see signs for Grotto Falls. Please note that this is a steep walk, so be prepared with comfortable shoes.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Pigeon Forge. A recommended place is 'Pigeon Forge Bicycle Rentals' located on the Parkway. Once you have your bike, head east on the Parkway towards Gatlinburg. Follow the same route as mentioned for walking, taking US-441 North towards the Trillium Gap Trailhead. It will take about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. Once you reach the trailhead, make sure to lock your bike securely before starting your hike.
