Shuttle Bus
From the center of Gatlinburg, locate the Gatlinburg Trolley stop near the Gatlinburg Convention Center. Take the trolley on the 'Arts & Crafts' route, which will take you toward the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. Ensure you inform the driver that you want to get off at the Grotto Falls Parking area. The ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the Grotto Falls trailhead.

Walking
If you’re feeling adventurous and are up for a little hike, you can walk from the main strip in Gatlinburg. Start at the intersection of Parkway and River Road. Head east on River Road for about half a mile until you reach the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Once you enter the park, follow the signs for Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. It’s about a 2.5-mile walk from the main strip to the trailhead, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.

Bicycle Rental
For a more active option, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Gatlinburg, such as Smoky Mountain Bikes. From the rental shop, head east on the Parkway and take the right on Historic Nature Trail. Follow the trail as it leads you into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Continue for about 3 miles until you reach the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail entrance. Make sure to lock your bike at the designated area before heading to the Grotto Falls trailhead.
