From downtown Amarillo, walk to the nearest bus stop at 6th Ave and Polk St. Take the Amarillo City Transit bus route 1 (Red route) heading towards the Amarillo Civic Center. Get off at the 10th Ave and I St stop. Walk north on I St until you reach 3160 I Ave, which is about a 10-minute walk. The Amarillo Railroad Museum will be on your left.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local bike-sharing services available in Amarillo. Start from the downtown area and ride west on 6th Ave until you reach I St. Then, turn left (south) onto I St and continue until you reach 3160 I Ave. The museum will be on your right. This route is approximately 3 miles and should take about 15-20 minutes.

If you are close to downtown Amarillo, you can walk directly to the museum. Start at the Amarillo Civic Center and head east on 6th Ave. Continue on 6th Ave until you reach I St, then turn left (north) onto I St. Walk until you reach the intersection with I Ave, then turn right (east). 3160 I Ave will be on your left. This walk is approximately 1.5 miles and should take around 30 minutes.
