If you are near the Amarillo Civic Center, start by heading southwest on Civic Center Dr towards S Taylor St. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with SW 6th Ave. Turn left (south) onto SW 6th Ave. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 miles. The Texas Route 66 Visitor Center will be located on your right at 1900 SW 6th Ave.

If you are near the Amarillo Bus Station, take the Route 1 bus heading towards the Westgate Mall. Ride the bus for approximately 15 minutes and get off at the SW 6th Ave stop. From there, walk north for two blocks on SW 6th Ave. The Texas Route 66 Visitor Center will be located at 1900 SW 6th Ave on your left.
