Getting There

• Walking

  If you are near the Seawall, start at the intersection of Seawall Boulevard and 25th Street. Head north on 25th Street until you reach Mechanic Street. Turn right onto Mechanic Street and continue for about three blocks. You'll find the Galveston Island Visitor Information Center located in the Chamber of Commerce building at 2228 Mechanic Street, on the first floor lobby inside.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  Locate a nearby bus stop and take the Island Transit bus service. You can catch Route 1, which runs along Seawall Boulevard and connects to various points in Galveston. You will need to get off at the bus stop closest to the intersection of 25th Street and Mechanic Street. From there, walk north on 25th Street and turn right onto Mechanic Street. The Visitor Information Center is located at 2228 Mechanic Street, on the first floor lobby inside the Chamber of Commerce.

• Biking

  If you have access to a bike, start from the Seawall and head towards the intersection of 25th Street and Mechanic Street. Ride north on 25th Street until you reach Mechanic Street, then take a right. Continue on Mechanic Street for approximately three blocks, and the Galveston Island Visitor Information Center will be on your right at 2228 Mechanic Street, located on the first floor lobby inside the Chamber of Commerce.

• Riding a Scooter

  Rent a scooter from one of the local rental shops. From the Seawall, head east on 25th Street until you reach Mechanic Street. Turn right onto Mechanic Street and continue for three blocks. The Visitor Information Center will be on your right inside the Chamber of Commerce at 2228 Mechanic Street, on the first floor lobby.
