From the Old City or Nimmanhaemin area, find a songthaew (red truck) and tell the driver you want to go to San Pa Pao. The fare should be around 30-50 THB per person. The driver will take you along the main roads and drop you off near San Pa Pao. Once you get off, ask for directions to 'Balloon Port@chiangmai' or use Google Maps to navigate to V34W+RR8, San Pa Pao, San Sai District. The balloon port is about a 10-minute walk from where you will be dropped off.

You can hire a tuk-tuk from any popular tourist area in Chiang Mai, such as the Night Bazaar or Tha Phae Gate. Negotiate the price (around 150-300 THB) to take you directly to 'Balloon Port@chiangmai' at V34W+RR8, San Pa Pao, San Sai District. Make sure the driver knows the exact address before you set off.

Take a public bus from the Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Station heading towards San Sai. Look for the bus number that goes to San Pa Pao or ask locals for assistance. The fare will be about 20-30 THB. Once you arrive in San Pa Pao, you can either walk or take a local motorcycle taxi to the balloon port, which is about 5 kilometers away from the bus stop.

Bicycle Rental
If you enjoy cycling, rent a bicycle from a shop in the Old City. Head north on Route 107 towards San Sai. The ride is approximately 20 kilometers and will take about an hour. Look for signs directing you to San Pa Pao. Once you arrive in San Pa Pao, use Google Maps for the final directions to 'Balloon Port@chiangmai' at V34W+RR8.
