Getting There

• Songthaew

  From the Old City in Chiang Mai, head to the main road, and look for a Songthaew (red truck taxi) heading toward Mae Taeng. You can catch one at the Chang Puak Gate or the north bus station. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are headed to Mae Taeng. The fare is typically around 50-100 THB depending on the distance. Once you arrive in Mae Taeng, ask the driver to drop you off near Huai Mae Ka.

• Local Bus

  You can take a local bus from the Arcade Bus Station in Chiang Mai. Look for buses heading to Mae Taeng. The journey will take around 1.5 hours, and the fare is about 40 THB. Once you arrive at Mae Taeng, you will need to find a local Songthaew or tuk-tuk to take you to Huai Mae Ka, which is approximately 10 km away.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Chiang Mai. Start at Tha Phae Gate and cycle north through the city to the Mae Taeng area. The ride is about 30 km and will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach the Mae Taeng area, follow local signs or ask locals for directions to Huai Mae Ka.

• Motorbike Rental

  For a faster option, you can rent a motorbike in Chiang Mai. From the city center, head north on Route 107 towards Mae Taeng. The ride is about 30 km and takes around 30-45 minutes. Upon reaching Mae Taeng, navigate towards Huai Mae Ka, which is easily accessible via local roads. Make sure to check a map or GPS for the exact location.
