Getting There

Songthaew
From your accommodation in Chiang Mai, walk to the nearest Songthaew station. Songthaews are red pickup trucks that operate as shared taxis. You can usually find them at major intersections or near markets. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Maetaman Elephant Camp. The fare should be around 150-300 THB depending on your starting point. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. The driver will drop you off at the entrance of the camp.

Tuk-tuk
Alternatively, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Chiang Mai. Negotiate the price beforehand, which should be around 800-1,200 THB for a round trip. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to Maetaman Elephant Camp. Make sure to agree on a time for your return trip to ensure you have a ride back.

Public Bus
You can also take a public bus to get to Maetaman. Head to the Arcade Bus Station in Chiang Mai and look for buses going towards Mae Taeng. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the Maetaman Elephant Camp. This option is cheaper but may take longer. The bus ride can take around 1.5-2 hours. Once you arrive at the bus stop, it's a short walk to the entrance of the camp.
