Walking
If you are in the Old City area of Chiang Mai, head towards the Tha Phae Gate, which is a central landmark. From Tha Phae Gate, walk north on Ratchadamnoen Road until you reach the intersection with Prapokklao Road. Turn left onto Prapokklao Road and continue walking for about 600 meters. Wat Chedi Luang Varaviharn will be on your right at 103 Prapokklao Road.
Tuk-Tuk
Find a tuk-tuk driver near your hotel or a popular area like the Night Bazaar. Tell the driver 'Wat Chedi Luang' or show them the address: 103 Prapokklao Road. The driver will take you directly to the temple, which is around 10-15 minutes away depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare before beginning your ride.
Songthaew (Red Truck)
Locate a red songthaew station, which can often be found near major markets or tourist spots. Get on a songthaew heading towards the Old City and let the driver know you're going to Wat Chedi Luang. The fare is typically around 20-30 baht. Once you reach the Old City, get off at the nearest stop and walk the remaining few minutes to the temple at 103 Prapokklao Road.
Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, head towards the Old City. From the center of the Old City, cycle north on Ratchadamnoen Road until you reach Prapokklao Road. Turn left and continue cycling for about 600 meters. You will see Wat Chedi Luang Varaviharn on your right. There are bike racks available for parking.
