If you're driving from Bangkok, take Highway 3 (Sukhumvit Road) towards Chonburi. After about 1.5 hours, take the exit for Highway 36 towards Rayong. Continue on Highway 36 for approximately 45 minutes until you reach Rayong. Follow signs to Phe, where you can find the pier for Koh Samet. Note that you will need to park your car at the designated parking area at the pier, which typically costs around 200 baht per day.

From Bangkok, head to Ekkamai Bus Terminal and take a bus to Rayong. The journey takes about 3-4 hours and costs around 150-200 baht. Once you arrive in Rayong, take a local taxi or songthaew (shared taxi) to Phe Pier, which should cost about 50-100 baht. From Phe Pier, you will need to purchase a boat ticket to Koh Samet, which typically costs 200-300 baht for a round trip. The boat ride takes about 30 minutes.

Upon arriving at Koh Samet, you will need to take a short taxi ride or walk to the Sunrise and Sunset viewing points, which are both located on the eastern side of the island.
