Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Pai town center, head northeast on Rte 1095 (the main road). Continue walking for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the Pai Canyon entrance. From there, take a left onto the Chiang Dao Road (Rte 107). Follow the signs for Chiang Dao, which will lead you through beautiful countryside. After about 45 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary entrance.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Pai. Start your journey by heading northeast along Rte 1095. Continue straight for about 6 km until you reach the junction with Rte 107. Turn left at the junction and keep following Rte 107 for approximately 15 km. You will see signs for the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary; follow these signs until you reach the entrance. The ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.

  • Songthaew (Shared Taxi)

    Find a songthaew (a shared taxi) at the Pai bus station or along the main road. Inform the driver that you want to go to Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary. The songthaew will take you directly to the sanctuary, which is about 50 km from Pai. The ride typically takes around 1 hour and costs about 100-150 THB per person. Make sure to confirm the price with the driver before getting in.
