If you're traveling by car from the center of Mae Sai, head north on Route 1 (Asia Highway). Continue for approximately 7 kilometers until you reach the intersection for Route 1234. Turn right onto Route 1234 and follow it for about 5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Wat Phra That Doi Wao. Once you get close, you will see the temple perched on a hill. There is a parking area available near the temple.

To reach Wat Phra That Doi Wao using public transportation, start by taking a local songthaew (shared taxi) from Mae Sai town center heading towards the Mae Sai border market. Communicate with the driver that you want to go to Wat Phra That Doi Wao. The fare should be around 30-50 THB per person. The songthaew will drop you off near the entrance of the temple area, from where you may need to walk a short distance uphill to reach the temple.
