Getting There

  • Car

    From Abuko Nature Reserve, head south on the main road (Banjul Highway). Continue driving for about 5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Kairaba Avenue. Turn left onto Kairaba Avenue and drive for another 3 kilometers. When you reach the traffic lights at the junction with the Senegambia Strip, take a right turn. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you see signs leading to Kotu Point. Follow these signs, and you will find Serrekunda Beach at the end of the road.

  • Public Transportation (Bush Taxi)

    Walk to the nearest bush taxi station from Abuko Nature Reserve. Take a bush taxi heading towards Serrekunda. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Kairaba Avenue. After about 15-20 minutes, disembark at Kairaba Avenue. From there, you can either walk (about 30 minutes) towards the beach or take a local taxi for a short ride (approximately 10-15 minutes). The taxi fare should cost around 50-100 Dalasi. Once you reach the end of Kairaba Avenue, follow the signs to Kotu Point, and you will arrive at Serrekunda Beach.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Abuko. Start by heading south on the main road towards Banjul Highway. After about 5 kilometers, turn left onto Kairaba Avenue. Continue cycling straight for about 3 kilometers until you reach the junction at the Senegambia Strip. Take a right turn and follow the road for another 2 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Kotu Point. The total cycling distance is approximately 10 kilometers, and it may take about 40-50 minutes depending on your pace.
