Walking
If you're in Nuku'alofa, start at the main town square (Tupou Tamasese Square). Walk towards Vuna Road, which is the main road leading out of the town square. Continue walking straight along Vuna Road, passing by the Tongan National Cultural Centre on your left. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will see the Royal Palace of Tonga on your right-hand side. The palace is easily identifiable with its grand architecture and lush gardens.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Nuku'alofa. Head towards Vuna Road, following the same route as if walking. You can cycle along the side of the road, which is mostly flat and easy to navigate. The distance is about 1.5 kilometers, and it should take you around 7-10 minutes to reach the Royal Palace of Tonga. Look out for the palace on your right side as you approach.
Local Bus
Locate the nearest bus stop in Nuku'alofa, typically found along Vuna Road. Catch a local bus heading towards the eastern part of the island. Inform the bus driver that you want to visit the Royal Palace of Tonga. The bus ride will take about 5-10 minutes, and you should alight at the closest stop to the palace, which is just a short walk away. As you exit the bus, head back towards the right, and you will see the palace ahead.
