Getting There

  • Public Transport

    If you're starting from Taksim Square, take the Funicular (F1) to Kabatas. From Kabatas, board the tram (T1) towards Bağcılar. Get off at Sultanahmet station. Once you exit the tram, walk towards the Hippodrome, and then head towards the direction of Topkapi Palace. The Istanbul Archaeological Museums will be on your right after you pass the entrance to Topkapi Palace.

  • Walking

    If you are near Sultanahmet Square, simply walk towards the Topkapi Palace. As you approach the palace, the Istanbul Archaeological Museums will be located on your right side, after you pass the Topkapi entrance. It's a short walk of about 5-10 minutes.

  • Bus

    From the area of Taksim, take the bus line 28 or 30D towards Eminönü. Get off at the Eminönü stop. From there, you can either walk towards Sultanahmet (approximately 15 minutes) or take the tram (T1) from Eminönü to Sultanahmet. Once you reach Sultanahmet, follow the directions given for tram travel.

  • Metro

    If you are near Şişli, take the M2 metro line towards Yenikapı. At the Yenikapı station, transfer to the M1A line towards Aksaray. Get off at the Aksaray station and take the tram (T1) towards Bağcılar. Disembark at Sultanahmet and follow the walking directions from there.
