After approximately 15 kilometers, you will reach a fork. Take the left fork towards the mountain pass. Drive carefully as the road can be narrow and winding. After another 10 kilometers, keep an eye out for a small sign indicating Pereval Kalai on your right. Park your vehicle at the designated parking area, and the pass will be a short hike from there.

To reach Pereval Kalai using public transportation, first, take a minibus (known locally as a 'marshrutka') from Ashgabat to Köýtendag. This journey takes approximately 6-7 hours. Once in Köýtendag, you can hire a local taxi to take you to Pereval Kalai. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should cost around 50-100 Turkmenistani Manat. The taxi ride will take about 30-40 minutes. The driver should be familiar with the area and can drop you off at the nearest point to the pass.
