Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the center of Bukedi. Head southwest on the main road towards Kisoro. After approximately 70 kilometers, you will reach the town of Kisoro. At Kisoro, follow the signs for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The Rushaga Sector is located within the park, so you will need to pay the entrance fee at the park gate, which is approximately $40 per person for foreign tourists. Continue driving for about 15 kilometers through the park until you reach the Rushaga Sector entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Rushaga Sector via public transport, find a local taxi or bus that heads to Kisoro from Bukedi. The journey will take around 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Kisoro, you can hire a motorcycle taxi or a local taxi to take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Ensure to inform the driver that you want to go to the Rushaga Sector. The cost for the motorcycle taxi is typically around $10-$15. Don't forget to budget for the park entrance fee of approximately $40 per person.
Combination of Public Transport and Walking
For a more adventurous option, take a bus or taxi from Bukedi to Kisoro. After reaching Kisoro, you can opt to hike to the Rushaga Sector, which is about a 15-kilometer walk through beautiful landscapes.
