Car
To reach the Source of the Nile from Bukedi by car, start by heading towards Jinja. Take the main road from Bukedi, which is the Kamuli-Jinja Road (also known as the Jinja-Kamuli Road). Continue straight for about 50 kilometers until you reach Jinja town. Once in Jinja, follow the signs to Nile Cres. The Source of the Nile is located on Nile Cres, and there is ample parking available nearby. Expect to spend approximately 1-1.5 hours on this journey, depending on traffic.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, head to the nearest bus terminal in Bukedi. Look for a bus heading to Jinja; these buses frequently depart and usually cost around 10,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings) per ticket. The bus journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Jinja, you can take a taxi or boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to Nile Cres, which should cost between 5,000 and 10,000 UGX. Ensure to ask the driver to take you to the Source of the Nile.

If you prefer a quicker route within Jinja after arriving by bus, consider hiring a boda-boda. Boda-bodas are widely available and can take you directly to Nile Cres. The fare should be around 5,000 UGX, and the ride typically lasts about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Always negotiate the fare before starting your ride.
