Getting There

  • Car

    From any location in Bukedi, head towards the town of Fort Portal. Use the main road that connects Bukedi to Fort Portal. Once you reach Fort Portal, follow signs to Bundibugyo. After approximately 70 kilometers, you will reach the junction for Semuliki National Park. Turn left at the junction and drive for about 30 kilometers until you reach the park entrance in Yenga. Be prepared for possible rough terrain towards the park, especially during rainy seasons.

  • Public Transportation

    Start by taking a taxi (commonly known as a 'matatu') from your location in Bukedi to Fort Portal. The fare is usually around 15,000 to 25,000 UGX depending on your starting point. Once you arrive in Fort Portal, find a local taxi or motorcycle taxi (boda boda) that can take you to the Bundibugyo junction. From there, you can arrange for a boda boda to take you directly to the park entrance in Yenga, which may cost an additional 10,000 to 20,000 UGX.

  • Combination (Car + Boda Boda)

    If you have access to a car but wish to avoid the rough road conditions, you can drive to Fort Portal and park your vehicle at a safe location. Then, take a boda boda from Fort Portal to Semuliki National Park entrance. This can be more convenient and may cost around 20,000 UGX for the boda boda ride.
