Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Gulu, start at the Gulu Main Market. Head south on the main road (A104) for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction at the Gulu University entrance. Turn left onto the road leading to Gulu University and continue straight for another 2 kilometers. You will see signs for Aruu Falls as you approach the outskirts of the university. Continue on this road until it forks; take the right fork and follow the signs for Aruu Falls. After approximately 3 kilometers, you will reach a trailhead that leads to the falls. Follow the marked path to the falls.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from any of the local shops in Gulu. Start your ride from the Gulu Central Police Station, heading south along the A104 road. After about 1 kilometer, turn left at the junction that leads towards Gulu University. Cycle straight for 2 kilometers until you reach the university. From the university, follow the road signs towards Aruu Falls, keeping to the right at the fork after about 3 kilometers, which will lead you to the trailhead. Park your bicycle and walk the last part on foot to reach the falls.

• Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)

  Find a boda boda stand near your location in Gulu, such as the one near Gulu Main Market. Tell the rider you want to go to Aruu Falls. They will take you along the A104 road heading south. After about 1 kilometer, the boda boda will turn left towards Gulu University. Continue straight on this road for about 2 kilometers. The rider should know the way to Aruu Falls, so you can sit back and enjoy the ride. After reaching the fork in the road, take the right fork and the rider will drop you off at the trailhead, from where you can walk the remaining distance to the falls.
