Getting There

  • Car

    From the main entrance to Kibale National Park, drive west on the Fort Portal-Mpondwe Road (A109) for approximately 20 kilometers. Watch for the KIWA Heritage sign on your left. The entrance to KIWA Heritage is just off the main road. Parking is available on-site.

  • Public Transportation

    Take a taxi or matatu (shared minibus) from Fort Portal to Mpondwe. Ask the driver to drop you off at the KIWA Heritage stop along Fort Portal-Mpondwe Road. The journey typically takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. After disembarking, walk a short distance back towards the direction you came from to reach the entrance of KIWA Heritage.

  • Walking

    If you are staying at a nearby lodge within Kibale National Park, you can opt for a walking tour. Follow the signs towards the main road and walk along the Fort Portal-Mpondwe Road.
