Car
If you are travelling by car, start your journey from the main entrance of Rwenzori Mountains National Park, located at Nyakalengija. From the park entrance, drive toward the Nyakalengija village. Follow the signs towards the Mount Gessi trailhead which is well-marked. The approximate distance to the trailhead is about 7 kilometers, and the drive should take around 15-20 minutes. Ensure you have cash available for any park entrance fees, which are typically charged at the entrance. Once at the trailhead, park your vehicle and prepare for the hike.

Public Transportation
If you are taking public transportation, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from Kasese town to Nyakalengija. The matatus leave from the main taxi park in Kasese; look for those heading towards Nyakalengija. Once you arrive at Nyakalengija, the driver can drop you off near the park entrance. From there, you will need to walk to the Mount Gessi trailhead, which is about 1 kilometer away. This walk should take approximately 15 minutes.
