Car
If you're traveling by car from any location in Northern Region to the Kasubi Tombs in Kampala, head south on the main road (Gulu Highway) towards Kampala. Continue on this route for approximately 330 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Kampala. Once you enter the city, follow signs to Masiro Road. The Kasubi Tombs are located at 8HH3+H76, Masiro Rd, Kampala. There is usually a parking area available nearby, but be aware that some parking might incur a small fee.
Public Transportation - Bus
To reach the Kasubi Tombs via public transportation, first find a bus terminal in Northern Region, such as the Gulu Bus Park. Board a bus heading to Kampala. The journey will take approximately 5-6 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Kampala, you can take a taxi or a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to Masiro Road. The fare for the taxi should be around 10,000 to 20,000 UGX, while a boda boda might cost between 5,000 to 10,000 UGX. Ensure you ask the driver to take you to the Kasubi Tombs.
Public Transportation - Taxi (Special Hire)
If you prefer a more direct route from anywhere in Kampala, you can opt for a special hire taxi. Simply request a taxi through a ride-hailing service or from a taxi stand and specify the Kasubi Tombs at Masiro Road as your destination. The fare will vary based on your starting location but expect to pay approximately 15,000 to 30,000 UGX for a ride from central Kampala.
