Private Car
If you are traveling by private car, start from Gulu town. Head south on the Gulu-Kampala Road (A1) for approximately 40 km until you reach the junction at Awach. Here, take the left turn onto the road towards Nyakabingo. Continue on this road for about 25 km until you reach the village of Nyakabingo. Ensure to use a GPS for accurate navigation, as some rural roads may not be well-marked.
Public Transportation (Matatu)
From Gulu town, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Kitgum. You can find these matatus at the Gulu bus park. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Awach Junction. The fare is approximately 5,000 UGX. Once you reach Awach Junction, you will need to hire a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) to take you the remaining 25 km to Nyakabingo. The boda boda fare should be around 15,000 UGX. Ensure to negotiate the price before the ride.
Boda Boda from Gulu
For a more direct route, you can hire a boda boda directly from Gulu town to Nyakabingo. The ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions. The fare can vary between 30,000 to 50,000 UGX. It is advisable to agree on the price beforehand and ensure that the rider is familiar with the route.
