Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Soroti Town, which is a central location in Teso. Head northwest on the A109 road towards Nyambogo. After approximately 15 kilometers, take a left turn onto the access road leading towards Busitema Forest. Continue straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach the forest entrance, which is marked by a sign. Keep your eyes open for the nearby Busitema University, as it is a notable landmark.
Public Transportation
To reach Busitema Forest using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Soroti Town to Nyambogo. The fare is generally around 3,000 UGX. Once you arrive in Nyambogo, you can either hire a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) for about 5,000 UGX to take you directly to the forest entrance, or you can walk the remaining 3 kilometers. The forest entrance is near Busitema University, which is a good reference point for direction.
Boda-Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
If you prefer a quicker mode of transport from Nyambogo, hiring a boda-boda is recommended. After arriving at Nyambogo, negotiate the fare with the boda-boda driver, typically around 5,000-10,000 UGX, depending on your negotiation skills. The journey to Busitema Forest should take about 10-15 minutes.
