Car
If you are driving from Mbarara, take the Rukungiri Road (also known as the Mbarara-Rukungiri Road) heading towards Rukungiri. After approximately 20 kilometers, turn left onto the C236 road, which leads into Lake Mburo National Park. Continue on this road for about 14 kilometers. You will see signs for Nshara Gate. Once you reach Nshara Gate, Mburo Safari Lodge will be located just nearby, approximately 1 km from the gate. Look for the lodge sign to guide you.

Public Transportation
For travelers using public transportation, you can take a bus from Mbarara to a nearby town called Sanga. The bus ride usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs approximately UGX 5,000 to UGX 10,000. Once you arrive in Sanga, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) to take you to Mburo Safari Lodge. The boda-boda ride will take about 30 minutes and will cost around UGX 20,000 to UGX 30,000. Please ensure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.

Alternatively, you can hire a private taxi from Mbarara directly to Mburo Safari Lodge. This option is more expensive but offers convenience and comfort. The taxi ride will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic and should cost around UGX 60,000 to UGX 100,000. Be sure to confirm the price before starting your trip.
