To reach Smailholm Tower by car, start from the town of Kelso. Head north on the A6089 towards the B6401. After approximately 3 miles, turn left onto the B6401. Continue on this road for about 1.5 miles until you see the signs for Smailholm Tower. There is a small parking area available at Sandyknowe Farm, where the tower is located. Please note that parking is free, but spaces may be limited during peak tourist seasons.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Kelso to the nearest stop at Smailholm. Buses run regularly, but check the local schedule for exact times.
