Getting There

• Car

  If you're using public transportation, look for local buses that run to the Promenade area. Many routes serve the central Blackpool area. You can catch the number 11 or 14 buses from various parts of Blackpool; these usually run frequently. Ask the driver to let you off at the stop closest to the Blackpool Illuminations on the Promenade. Check local bus schedules for exact times and fares, which typically cost around £2.00 per journey.

• Public Transportation (Tram)

  Another convenient option is to take the tram. The Blackpool tramway runs along the Promenade and has several stops near the Blackpool Illuminations. You can board the tram at any of the tram stops in Blackpool. Look for the 'Promenade' stop or 'Central Pier' stop, which are within walking distance of the illuminations. A single tram fare is approximately £2.00, and you can purchase tickets at the tram stops or on board.

• Walking

  Once you are near the Promenade, the Blackpool Illuminations are easily accessible by foot. If you are already in the town center or have parked nearby, simply walk towards the seafront. The illuminations are spread along the promenade, making it a lovely stroll. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as you will likely be walking for a while to take in all the sights.
