Travel Guide to Caernarfon Waterfront

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from within Caernarfonshire, head towards Caernarfon town center. Use the A487 road and follow the signs for Caernarfon. Once you reach the center, follow the signs directing you to the waterfront area. There are several public car parks available near the waterfront, including the long-stay car park on North Road, where parking may incur a fee (approximately £5 for a full day). After parking, the waterfront is just a short walk away.

• Public Bus

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from various locations in Caernarfonshire to Caernarfon bus station. Buses operated by Arriva Cymru connect towns like Bangor and Llanberis to Caernarfon. Once you arrive at Caernarfon bus station, it is a 10-minute walk to the waterfront. Exit the bus station and head towards the town center, following signs for the waterfront.

• Train

  If you are coming from outside of Caernarfonshire, you can take a train to Bangor Station, which is the nearest railway station. From Bangor, you can catch a bus (Arriva Cymru) or a taxi to Caernarfon. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes, and you will want to get off at the Caernarfon bus station. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to the waterfront.

• Walking

  If you are already in Caernarfon town and wish to explore on foot, the waterfront is easily accessible. Start from the town center, head towards the Castle, and then take the road that leads down to the waterfront area. This walk is approximately 15 minutes and offers scenic views of the town and the surrounding landscape.
