If you are traveling by car, start from Thurso, which is the nearest town. Head west on the A836 road towards Dunnet. After approximately 6 miles, take the exit toward Dunnet. Follow the road until you reach Observation Road. The lighthouse is located at Observation Road, Dunnet, Thurso KW14 8XS. There is no parking fee at the lighthouse.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Thurso to Dunnet. The bus service operates regularly, and you can catch the bus from the Thurso bus station. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as services may be limited on weekends. Once you arrive in Dunnet, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the lighthouse, following the signs that lead you along Observation Road. The walk offers beautiful coastal views.
