Setting and Layout

De Luca Cucina & Bar occupies a multi-floor building at 83 Regent Street, directly opposite Parker’s Piece. The ground-floor Skylight Restaurant features an open kitchen and seats around 31 guests. The first-floor Vespa Room functions as a private dining space for 12 to 28 people. The top floor holds a 28-seat cocktail lounge that converts into the Piano Bar on weekends, with a further small terrace of eight seats available only in good weather.

Menu and Service

All pasta, risotto and sauces are made on site. Neapolitan-style pizzas were added in 2021 but are not served after 5 pm on Saturdays. Main courses range from seafood linguine to steak, with antipasti plates and tiramisu for sharing. Midweek two-course set menus and Saturday bottomless lunch offers provide fixed-price options. Table service runs throughout; water is provided as standard.

Piano Bar and Evening Flow

From 9 pm on Friday and Saturday the top-floor lounge becomes a ticketed Piano Bar. Guests request songs while seated at the bar or on sofas in a New York-loft setting. Capacity is limited to 45 standing; tickets are sold separately and seating is not guaranteed. Many diners combine an evening meal with the later session, extending the visit into the early hours.

Access and Practical Details

The venue lies on the main walking route between Cambridge station and the historic centre. Queen Anne Terrace car park is a few minutes’ walk across Parker’s Piece. City buses stop nearby on Regent Street. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday; last kitchen orders on Tuesday to Thursday fall around 9 pm. The terrace operates only in suitable weather.

Audience and Atmosphere

Ground-floor rooms suit couples, families and small groups for dinner. The Piano Bar is restricted to over-21s and maintains a stricter dress code. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are available, and gluten-free pasta can be requested. The overall tone remains relaxed Italian downstairs and more intimate upstairs, with no cover charge for dining.
