The restaurant sits in a modest semi-detached Victorian house on Chesterton Road, immediately north of Jesus Green and the River Cam. The exterior shows a standard bay-windowed residential frontage with no signage that announces fine dining. Inside, the space is divided between a ground-floor room and a first-floor room, both finished in understated contemporary style with Scandi-leaning furniture and soft lighting. Total capacity is 22 covers, with a separate private dining room available for larger tables. Four steps lead to the front door; once inside, the ground floor is level.

Lunch runs a three-course set menu at £65 or tasting menus at £115 and £150. Dinner is tasting-menu only: the short version on Wednesday and Thursday, the full version every evening from Wednesday to Saturday. The full sequence moves through snacks, bread service, savoury courses and dessert, typically lasting two hours for the short menu and three to four hours for the full menu when paired with wine or non-alcoholic flights. The entire table must order the same menu. Service is explanatory and continuous rather than rushed.

Rooms remain quiet and intimate even at capacity. Candlelight appears in the evening, but the tone stays relaxed rather than formal. Staff present each course at the table and adjust pacing to the guests. Background music is low and adjustable. The setting suits couples on special occasions, visiting academics and planned business meals. No children under 12 are accepted and the kitchen cannot accommodate severe allergies or multiple ingredient exclusions.

From Cambridge city centre the walk across Jesus Green and the Cam takes 15 to 20 minutes on flat paths. From the station the same route is roughly 35 minutes on foot or 25 minutes by bus. Street parking is pay-and-display with free evenings after 5 pm; no dedicated restaurant spaces exist. A bus stop lies within 150 metres. Taxi or rideshare from the station takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Reservations are essential and frequently book six to eight weeks ahead for Friday and Saturday dinners. Toilets are located on the first floor, reached by stairs. Ground-floor dining can be requested at booking. The restaurant operates Wednesday to Saturday only; Sunday through Tuesday are closed. Weather affects only the walk to and from the building, not the meal itself.
