From Hawkshead, the walk to Latterbarrow’s summit is approximately 35-45 minutes on foot. Note that bus service frequency may reduce on Sundays and public holidays.
Car
Drive to Hawkshead village, where limited parking is available near the start of the Latterbarrow footpaths. Parking is free but can be scarce during peak seasons. The drive from Ambleside takes around 20-30 minutes via minor country roads. Be prepared for narrow lanes and occasional passing places.
Walking
For a scenic route, walk from Hawkshead village to Latterbarrow, a 3.5 km (2.2 miles) trail taking roughly 35-45 minutes. The terrain includes gentle to moderate inclines with some stone steps, suitable for walkers with moderate fitness. Paths are well marked but can be slippery when wet.
