Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Stanley Ghyll Waterfall, you can use the postcode CA19 1TJ to navigate to the Eskdale area. From the A595 road, take the B5344 towards Eskdale Green. Continue on this road until you reach the village of Eskdale. Look for signs to Stanley Ghyll Waterfall. There is a small car park near the starting point of the trail at the entrance to the woods. Note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around £2-£5 for a day.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Stanley Ghyll Waterfall by public transportation, take a train to the nearest station, which is Ravenglass. From Ravenglass, you can catch the local bus service (usually the 5 or 6) towards Eskdale. Get off at the stop for the village of Eskdale. From there, it's a short walk to the trailhead leading to the waterfall. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited, especially on weekends or holidays.

• Walking

  Once you arrive at the trailhead from either the car park or the bus stop, follow the well-marked path through the beautiful woodland. The walk to Stanley Ghyll Waterfall is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) one way and takes about 20-30 minutes. The path can be uneven and may require some climbing, so wear suitable footwear. As you approach the waterfall, listen for the sound of rushing water; the view is well worth the effort!
