From Inverness city center, head to the Bus Station located on Margaret Street. Look for the bus service number 11 (operated by Stagecoach), which travels towards Ardersier. Purchase your ticket from the driver or at the station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Fort George'. From the bus stop, you will see a sign directing you to Fort George, which is about a 10-minute walk. Follow the signs along the path leading to the entrance.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Inverness. Start from the city center and head towards the A96 road. Follow the A96 eastbound for about 4 miles (6.4 km) until you reach the turn-off for Fort George. There are cycle paths along parts of the route. Once you reach the entrance road to Fort George, follow it for approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) until you arrive at the fort. Please ensure you have a map or GPS for navigation.

Walking
For those who enjoy walking, start at Inverness Castle located in the city center. Head east on Castle Street, continuing onto Bridge Street until you reach the traffic lights. Cross the road and follow the signs towards the A96. Walk along the A96 for about 4 miles (6.4 km), which will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. There is a footpath along the road for safety. Once you see the sign for Fort George, turn onto the entrance road and walk for another mile (1.6 km) to the fort.
