Car
If you're starting from Port Ellen, head northwest on the A846 road towards Bowmore. Continue along the A846 for about 10 miles until you reach the junction with the B8016 road. Turn left onto the B8016 and follow the signs towards the Kilchoman distillery. After approximately 2 miles, you will see a sign for Soldiers Rock. Turn right onto a minor road that leads to the parking area. The hike to Soldiers Rock begins from the parking area.

Begin your journey at the Port Ellen bus station, where you can catch the local bus service that runs towards Bowmore. Ask the driver to let you off at the Kilchoman distillery stop.
