Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Stornoway, the largest town on the Isle of Lewis. Head southwest on the A857 towards Tarbert. Follow the A857 for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with the A859 in Tarbert. Take the A859 towards Harris and continue for about 4 miles. After passing the village of Scalpay, keep an eye out for a sign for Ardvourlie Woodland. Turn left onto a minor road leading to Ardvourlie Woodland. The woodland entrance will be on your right after a short distance. Note that parking may be limited, so arrive early if possible.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take the bus from Stornoway to Tarbert. The bus service is provided by Western Isles Buses, and the journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once in Tarbert, you will need to transfer to a local taxi service or arrange for a lift to Ardvourlie Woodland, as public transport options directly to the woodland are limited. The taxi ride from Tarbert to Ardvourlie Woodland will take approximately 10-15 minutes and should cost around £15-£20.

If you're feeling adventurous, cycling from Stornoway to Ardvourlie Woodland is also an option. The route is approximately 34 miles and follows the A857 and A859 roads.
