Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards Edinburgh city center. From any location in Midlothian, take the A7 or the A720 to reach the city. Once in Edinburgh, follow signs for the city center and then use the A90. From there, take the exit toward the Old Town and continue onto the Cowgate. Turn onto Candlemaker Row, and you will find Greyfriars Bobby's Bar at 30-34 Candlemaker Row, EH1 2QE. Parking can be challenging in the area, so consider using nearby car parks such as the NCP Edinburgh (Castle Terrace) or the Q-Park at Omni Centre, where charges apply.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  To reach Greyfriars Bobby's Bar via bus, find your nearest bus stop and take a service towards Edinburgh city center. Look for buses that indicate stops at 'Cowgate' or 'High Street'. You can use Lothian Buses, which operate a comprehensive network in the area. A single adult fare will cost around £1.80. Once you get off at Cowgate, walk along the street towards Candlemaker Row, and you’ll arrive at the bar within a few minutes.

  If you’re coming from further afield, take a train to Edinburgh Waverley Station, which is well connected from various locations in Scotland.   If you are already in the Old Town area of Edinburgh, Greyfriars Bobby's Bar is easily reachable on foot. From the Grassmarket, walk up Victoria Street, then turn left onto Cowgate. Continue straight until you reach Candlemaker Row. The bar will be on your right at 30-34 Candlemaker Row, EH1 2QE. This walk takes approximately 10 minutes.
